Fans of the “Dolphin Tale” movies and Winter the Dolphin will be excited to learn that the first ever Winter the Dolphin’s Beach Club Hotel is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2020.

With 91 hotel rooms, the hotel will be eco-friendly and will feature a marine-life theme throughout the property, with plenty of Winter the dolphin decor too. This new accommodations option for families will be located at 655 S. Gulfview Blvd, Clearwater Beach, Florida – just a short drive from the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

Working together, Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA), Page Development Group and Choice Hotels’ Ascend Hotel Collection with environmental concerns in mind, they are overhauling an existing hotel and re-use existing materials. For example, rather than purchasing new doors, every room has a refurbished original door.

Measures to protect marine life include sea turtle safe lighting, the elimination of single-use plastics, and even special window treatments to reduce energy use while minimizing the harmful effects of sun glare off of the Gulf.

Kids can enjoy watching the wild dolphin webcam available for guests to keep an eye on Clearwater’s marine life. The Clearwater Marine Aquarium is only a short drive away from the property, making this a great activity to include during your stay at the hotel.

And hotel guests can also feel good about their stay with proceeds from each room night going directly to the care, education, research and conservation of marine mammals thanks to the work of the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
