Known for its fantastic location and beautiful architecture, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort is currently undergoing a multi-phase, multi-year, $125 million renovation.
The Swan recently completed redesigning every guest room in the 758-room hotel and the makeover of the Dolphin rooms is set to begin soon.
A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to stay in one of the Swan’s newly renovated rooms and it was pretty magical.
A Look Inside The Swan Resort Rooms
The room fairies granted me with a beautiful alcove suite facing Epcot with a fantastic view of the nightly Illuminations fireworks and I could even see the Magic Kingdom fireworks off in the distance. With four large windows, I didn’t even have to get out of my bed to see them. How’s that for magical? Pro Tip: If you book an alcove suite, ask for room 743 at check-in. It is fantastic!
In addition to the views, the newly renovated Swan rooms also feature all-new furniture, HD televisions (my alcove suite had two!), extra power outlets including USB plugs, a coffee maker with Starbucks coffee (!!) and a mini-refrigerator too.
I was traveling solo this trip (woohoo!) and loved having a large couch and table space to spread out. I was even more surprised when I realized that the couch pulled out into a bed. This room could easily fit four to five people– comfortably!
I last stayed at the Swan and Dolphin back in 2013 and to compare the ‘old’ rooms to the ‘new’ rooms is just incredible. There’s truly no comparison — the new look features a relaxing color palette with blues, whites and tan colors – making it a calming ‘home away from home’.
This picture below shows the difference between the two. New room on the left and the old room is on the right. Such a welcome change — the new redesign feels more elegant and relaxing to me.
The Westin Heavenly bed completes the room with a pillow-top mattress set, a down comforter and tons of pillows. There’s just something magical about laying in bed and seeing Spaceship Earth out your window.
Another great addition to the room – USB plugs in the lamps on the nightstand! I’m a tech girl that travels with numerous devices, cameras, chargers and more. The room is filled with wall plugs and the USB ports were a nice surprise too.
The new look of the Swan rooms is refreshing, relaxing and the perfect retreat after a busy day at the Disney parks. I hope to return soon with my family and experience the fun activities around the resort with them too.
