My Maggie is obsessed with LEGO Friends – the books, the building sets, the characters, videos – she knows everything about them. I love her passion for it and experiencing LEGOLAND Florida Resort was a huge thrill for her.
From the LEGO Friends live show to the themed shopping, rides and even places to eat – there are many ways to experience the Friends home of Heartlake City at LEGOLAND Florida. We always save extra time for Maggie to enjoy her favorite area of the park.
Here’s a look at all of the LEGO Friends adventures available at LEGOLAND Florida Resort –
Have Fun on Mia’s Riding Adventure
If your little one is up for an adventure, climb aboard Mia’s Riding Adventure. LEGOLAND Florida refers to this ride as a ‘disc coaster’, as riders sit stationary on their horse, yet the platform swings from side to side and up and down. I’d compare the swinging motion to similar to the pirate ship rides you’d see at the fair.
It was a bit too adventurous for Maggie, as I couldn’t talk her into trying it, but she loved watching kids squeal and shout while riding it. Even later in the day, she was still too timid – maybe next year! PRO TIP: For those not riding, hop over for some ice cream at the Heartlake Ice Cream Parlor – great view of the ride!
Sing and Dance with LEGO Friends
Check the park’s latest show guide (or download it before you leave home!) and dance along at the ‘Friends to the Rescue’ live stage show. This 20-minutes show features songs, dancing and my girls love the story of how Andrea’s big performance and her friends helping her get ready for the show.
The stars of the show make their way through the audience to get the audience up and dancing along too. Make time for this show, as its a big hit with little ones — and you can enjoy some air conditioning too!
Go Shopping at Heartlake Mall
Be sure to save plenty of time for shopping (or just looking!) at the LEGO Friends items in the Heartlake Mall. While many of the items can be found at home, I was honestly surprised at how many LEGO Friends items they had that Maggie had never seen before!
From storage containers, cute shirts, jewelry, notebooks, lunch boxes — there were SO many things we would have loved to have brought home with us. I also made some mental notes for upcoming birthday and Christmas ideas too!
Maggie’s wish list grew a lot longer while we were there. She loved seeing everything up close and checking out all the sets that she’d only seen in magazines.
Have a LEGO Friends Sleepover
For the ultimate LEGO Friends experience, the LEGOLAND Hotel adjacent to the theme park has LEGO Friends themed rooms! These rooms make you feel like you’ve just stepped inside Heartlake City.
With a queen-sized bed and a separate cove with bunkbeds and a second television, kids can be immersed inside Heartlake City at the resort. From the artwork on the walls, the colors and even the set of Duplo bricks inside the room to build, it is the ultimate overnight stay for fans.
These rooms were all booked during our LEGOLAND Hotel stay last January, so I didn’t even mention it to her – I knew she’d be heartbroken. However, I know it would have been such a dream for her to sleep inside a LEGO Friends world.
Fun Photo Opportunities at LEGOLAND Florida
Be sure to have your camera ready as there are some really fun photo opportunities throughout Heartlake City. Maggie insisted on having her picture taken each time we saw a life-sized LEGO Friends sculpture.
Keep an eye out for LEGO Friends hanging out and building LEGO bricks with kids in the lobby of the LEGOLAND Hotel. And while you are at the park, pick up a show times guide and see if there are any scheduled meet and greets available.
There are so many fun photo opportunities throughout Heartlake City — and the park itself. Your kids will love exploring the park and yelling ‘Cheese!’
