The time is almost near for one of my family’s favorite holiday traditions – Christmas at Gaylord Palms Resort! The fun takes place daily from November 21, 2017 – January 7, 2018, including holidays.
From breakfast with Charlie Brown and Friends to gingerbread decorating, photos with Santa Claus, exploring the Alpine Village, ICE! and more- it is one of my favorite ways to celebrate the holiday season.
This year’s theme – ICE! featuring Christmas Around the World showcasing different cultures and their wintertime festivities.
Along with your family, celebrating the world’s diverse holiday traditions, countries represented include United Kingdom, Mexico, Germany and more. All at a chilly nine degrees, (but don’t worry – warm jackets are included in the fun)!
See Cirque Dreams Unwrapped
Make time during your visit to experience the Cirque Dreams Unwrapped show performed nightly on the Emerald Bay Plaza Stage in the St. Augustine Atrium.
Acrobats, jugglers, dancing, trapeze artists and more — this year’s show features a rotating variety of performers so each show is different. Get there early for a great seat — past year’s shows have been fantastic, you don’t want to miss it.
Visit the Alpine Village
Adjacent to ICE, you’ll find the festive Alpine Village filled with a holiday shopping area, snow tubing, great photo opportunities, the Build-A-Bear Workshop, a meet and greet with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus’ Christmas Traditions and Story Time Sing-a-long.
My family’s favorite activity in the village is the Gingerbread Decorating Corner presented by Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas. It is a great way to relax and create a gingerbread house (or cookies!) together with your family. I look forward to this every year when we visit ICE at Gaylord Palms.
Have Breakfast with Charlie Brown & Friends
I’m a huge fan of breakfast buffets — made to order omelets, bacon, biscuits and gravy, yes please! On select dates, families can enjoy breakfast with Charlie Brown, Lucy and Snoopy at Villa de Flora, located in the resort’s main atrium.
Be on the lookout for the Snoopy, Charlie Brown and dog house waffles on the buffet. Other themed dishes include themed dishes, such as Charlie Brown’s Build-Your-Own-French-Toast Station with Snoopy’s Maple Syrup, Pig Pen’s Dirty Hash Browns, Lucy’s Flap Jacks and Woodstock’s Granola.
Spend the Night for More Fun
Interested in spending the night? One-night packages start at $240 plus tax, resort fee and parking. Packages include ICE! tickets for two (with option to add additional adults or children) plus a souvenir family photo.
Overnight guests may also schedule a visit to ICE! during the daily hotel guest-exclusive Extra Cool Hour from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. To book packages and tickets, visit ChristmasAtGaylordPalms.com.
My girls are excited for the return of Christmas and Maggie is already putting together her wish list for Santa Claus.
