I love sharing pictures, updates and stories on my social media channels when I travel with my family. Carnival Cruise Lines understands that there is an increase in travelers that like to stay ‘plugged in’ — and they’ve recently announced enhancements to their social media access and the expansion of the Carnival HUB app.
New Social Media Internet Packages
Currently available on 13 ships, the enhanced Internet access offers increased bandwidth and speed alongside the social media package with unlimited access to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Pinterest and other popular sites for just $5 per day with discounted plans available for the entire cruise.
There’s also a “value” plan that includes unlimited access to the Web for checking email, sports scores, weather updates and other applications. The “premium” package will provide the fastest available connection speed with access to Skype and other streaming sites.
Carnival’s HUB Mobile App
The Carnival HUB Mobile App received rave reviews from travelers during the introductory time on the Carnival Breeze. And soon this app will be available on five additional ships by the end of the year and be fleetwide by summer 2016.
The mobile app includes day-by-day schedules of hundreds of on-board events, information on food and beverage venues, searchable deck plans, itinerary details and more. You can even access your Sail & Sign account balance – track your spending and charges right from the app!
The part that really excites me about the mobile app – the ability to chat with members of your traveling party while on the ship. Similar to texting, this messenging option is available via the app with mobile devices for a flat fee of $5 for the entire cruise. Bargain!
My husband and I usually go separate ways for afternoon breaks during the sea day (Him – the casino, Me – the Serenity deck while the girls are at Camp Ocean) – having chat capabilities would allow us to find one another at a moment’s notice.
These enhancements and expanded packages are going to be a great addition for families — especially ones like mine that love staying connected. I’m excited to cruise again to experiences these new features.
