I’m a huge fan of going to the beach – my girls love searching for shells, building sandcastles and jumping waves with Dad. But my little secret — I only like going to the beach when I can stay “on” the beach. I want to walk out of the resort and see the water – no car necessary.
And during our visit to the Beach House Suites by Loews Don Cesar in St. Pete Beach, Florida — we could do just that. The property recently completed an $8 million guest room renovation and it didn’t even feel like we were staying at a resort — it felt like home.
Here’s a look at why I fell in love with the Beach House Suites by Loews Don Cesar –
Amazing Beachfront Views
There’s nothing better to me than having breakfast while overlooking the beachfront. And while the weather didn’t always cooperate during our stay, it still made for some fantastic views. Watching a storm roll in from off of the waters is pretty incredible to see — don’t worry, I was safe inside watching from the couch!
For beach fun, the resort offers beach chair rentals, large umbrellas and deluxe beach cabanas too. It is a short walk out to the beach from the resort — I stopped by the tiki bar and picked up a strawberry daiquiri on my way out to the water.
Room for the Whole Family
The Beach House Suites feature all-suite accommodations. Our ‘home away from home’ was beachfront with a full living room, a separate bedroom with a king-sized bed, two bathrooms and a queen-sized pull-out sofa in the living room.
We all had our own areas — and most importantly, two bathrooms! Major win. Once the girls were asleep, my husband and I could stay up and enjoy the quietness.
We had plenty of room to spread out and relax. The girls were also very excited that they could be in bed and watch cartoons. (Ah, the little things in life sometimes!)
The entire suite had a modern feel with great beach accents. The tech nerd in me loved finding USB plugs on the bedside table too. The master bathroom had a rain shower faucet — heavenly after a day out in the sunshine.
All the Comforts of Home
Besides all of the room to spread out, each guest room at the Beach House Suites has a kitchenette and a stackable washer and dryer. (Wash those wet beach clothes!)
I was expecting a tiny area with a mini-refrigerator, but was extremely excited to find a larger than normal sized fridge, plenty of glass plates, cups, baking supplies, silverware, paper towels, dish towels and a full-sized dishwasher (with soap!)
I’m not a coffee drinker, but the machine had a large selection, including hot teas. A two-burner stovetop for cooking also made it easy for us to whip up lunch. We made a quick trip to Publix, just down the street and stocked up on plenty of snacks and breakfast to enjoy right in the room.
Full Access to the Pink Palace
Guests of The Beach House Suites by Loews Don Cesar have full access to all of the amenities available at the Loews Don Cesar, just four blocks to the south.
Schedule a day at Spa Oceana, enjoy the restaurants, spend time at the fitness center or have some free time by the pool while the little ones hang out at Kids Camp — all included with the resort fee. Parking is available at both properties and the resort also offers a complimentary shuttle service too. (Then again, you could just take a stroll down the beautiful beach to get there too.)
Experience More Than Just the Beach
If you’re an art lover, the Beach House Suites by Loews Down Cesar offers accommodations packages that include tickets to The Dali Museum. The package also includes breakfast for two at the Sea Porch Restaurant at the Loews Don Cesar and also a Dali coffee table book.
During our stay, we spent one morning visiting the museum. It was a quick fifteen-minute drive from the resort and we enjoyed exploring the city of St. Pete and also the incredible artwork too.
