There’s nothing better than fall at Walt Disney World, it is my favorite time to visit the parks. The weather is cooling off, the summer crowds are gone and the fall decorations are out along Main Street U.S.A. and across the park.
As an annual passholder, I received the quarterly newsletter this week and loved reading about what it takes to decorate the park for fall. Here’s what Walt Disney World says it takes to celebrate fall at the Magic Kingdom –
It takes over 750 hours to dress the park in full fall fashion
Pumpkins, wreaths, fall colors – the amount of details that goes into the decor is just fantastic. No area goes untouched – the season takes over the entire park and I love it!

All the decor requires 36 cast members to garnish the park
Wouldn’t that be a fun job to decorate Walt Disney World for Halloween? So many fun details go into the job — and it all must be done once the park is closed for the night.
Every decoration is handmade

That’s close to 8,000 pounds of leaves
There are roughly 4,000 pumpkins throughout the park
This video features shows what it takes to decorate Magic Kingdom Park for the fall season. It is pretty incredible the time and effort that goes into getting everything in place on Main Street U.S.A. Check out the fun pumpkins in the video –
On average, there are 20 small pumpkins on each wreath
The wreaths on the lamp posts along Main Street U.S.A and throughout the Magic Kingdom are just beautiful. I never knew there were 20 small pumpkins on each one though – I’m going to try and find them all on my next visit.
All the ribbon bows stretch out to over 1 mile in length
Isn’t that just incredible? What’s even more incredible is that in the days after the final Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party of the year – all the fall decor comes down in one evening.
I have actually gone to the park one day and seen fall decor and returned the next day to see it gone and Christmas decorations in its place. Just incredible!
