A Look Inside: The New LEGOLAND Beach Retreat

by Carrie McLaren with 4 comments

Everything is even more awesome at LEGOLAND Florida with the opening of the new LEGOLAND Beach Retreat on April 7, 2017. In addition to its close proximity to LEGOLAND Florida theme park, this resort focuses on outdoor fun — and plenty of LEGOs.

Last week, my family and I had the opportunity to stay at this new resort and attend the grand opening festivities – and in true LEGOLAND fashion, it was a huge hit with my girls.

Here’s a first-hand look at our experience staying at the LEGOLAND Beach Retreat in Winter Haven, Florida.

Inside the LEGOLAND Beach Retreat Bungalows

With 83 bungalows separated into 13 coves named after popular LEGO Minifigures, the new LEGOLAND Beach Retreat features 166 rooms that sleep up to five people. Each room has a king-sized bed in the main living area, and bunk beds with a trundle bed in a separate section of the room.

And, of course, there’s plenty of LEGO fun in the bungalow too! The 24-hour LEGO tv channel features ‘The LEGO Movie’ on repeat and there’s a box of Duplo blocks in each room for kids to build their own creations.

The walls and window coverings in the room feature LEGO Minifigures and there are even LEGO models throughout our room.

Outdoor Fun at LEGOLAND Beach Retreat

Each bungalow room has a front porch with a table for four, overlooking the cove’s playground area. (There’s a playground in each cove at the resort!) My girls loved having a spot to play so close to our room and I enjoyed catching up on a little bit of work and relaxing while they had fun.

The resort’s pool area features zero-entry access, complimentary life jackets and a large sandy area for building sandcastles, bean bag toss and a huge play area for kids too.

There are lifeguards on duty during normal pool hours. We spent a lot of time at the pool, the weather was perfect and Maggie was determined to build something with the floating LEGO bricks in the pool.

Where to Eat at LEGOLAND Beach Retreat

Located in the main resort building, Sandy’s Castle Restaurant is home to a complimentary breakfast buffet each morning and at night, dinner features a variety of entrees, salads and desserts. It is a relaxed atmosphere and great spot to relax after a day at the park. Sandy’s also has a huge LEGO display with bricks for kids to make their own creations. Grab a drink and let the kids play!

The adjacent Bricks Beach Bar menu features pizzas, burgers, sandwiches and flatbreads – you can choose to dine inside or outside. With a full bar, you’ll also find signature drinks on the menu. My husband and I liked the ‘Bricks on the Beach’ featuring Peach Schnapps, vodka, cranberry juice, orange juice and of course, a festive umbrella on the top.

The Beach Resort is off site.
Is there transportation service offered to the Park? (Or do we have to drive to the Park in the Mornings – and perhaps pay for parking as well?)

      Hi Felix –

They do offer free shuttle service between the park and the Beach Resort. If you have a car, you can also drive over and park for free!
