Walt Disney World vacations can be expensive – tickets, accommodations, food, transportation, souvenirs – it all adds up quickly. Not long ago, I learned how to rent Disney Vacation Club points and it helped us save over 50% on our on-property Disney resort accommodations.

After some research on my part, we rented Disney Vacation Club (DVC) points from the DVC Rental Store and had an amazing lake view studio at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort for half the price. We could even see the Magic Kingdom fireworks from our balcony!

You don’t have to be a DVC member to take advantage of these points.

What is the Disney Vacation Club?

The Disney Vacation Club is a timeshare program that includes nine Walt Disney World DVC Resorts, one DVC Resort at Disneyland and three DVC beach resorts – Hilton Head, Vero Beach and Oahu, Hawaii. Known as Disney’s vacation ownership program, members purchase a set amount of resort points each year to use on booking their Disney vacation.

When members can’t (or choose not) to use their points – they turn to third-party companies to sell their unused points for a discounted rate.

And that’s where you come in — benefitting from their unused points! And you don’t have to be a DVC member to take advantage of it.

How To Rent Disney Vacation Club Points

I use DVCRentalStore.com to rent Disney Vacation Club Points and have seen incredible savings. We’ve booked via DVC Rental Store twice and saved more than 50% off typical room rates both times. There’s no way we could have afforded those rooms at the standard rates.

And if you are a last-minute planner like me, keep an eye out on the DVC Rental Store Confirmed Reservations page. DVC members that make reservations and then have a change in plans also use DVC Rental Store to resell the room. Dates can’t be changed, but if you are flexible you can snag a deal.

Do I Still Get Disney Property Benefits?

Yes! You can still purchase tickets, receive MagicBands, take advantage of the Disney Dining Plan, coordinate Disney’s Magical Express for airport transportation and book dining reservations just like a typical guest.

Online check-in is handled the same as a typical guest and you can still take advantage of Extra Magic Hours. When your booking is complete with the DVC Rental Store, you receive a Disney confirmation number that you can enter right into your My Disney Experience account.

Disney Vacation Club accommodations include studios that feature kitchenettes, along with one- and two-bedroom accommodations. The one- and two-bedroom accommodations feature full-size kitchens and even washer and dryers.
