Spring has arrived and not only is it my favorite time of year because of the perfect weather, it is also my favorite time of year for weekend getaways.
Just in time for the Easter season, don’t miss the new Gaylord Palms Easter Eggstravaganza Weekends filled with festive egg displays throughout the atriums, sing-along tea parties to dining with the Easter Bunny and an Easter egg scavenger hunt. And, definitely make time for the massive Cypress Springs Water Park featuring new slides and a double Flowrider experience.
Here’s a look at the fun you and your family can have at Gaylord Palms Easter Eggstravaganza Weekends –
Explore the Atriums for Easter Decor
One of my favorite things to do at the Gaylord Palms is to explore each of the oversized atriums. There are always great spots for photos and no matter the weather, it is always beautiful inside!
For Spring, the atrium will feature beautiful pastel-colored tulips, daffodils, hyacinth and more blooming alongside giant, decorated Easter eggs and a particularly large “chocolate” bunny.
Go Hunting for Eggs
With 4.5 acres of indoor gardens, the Easter Bunny has a lot of space to hide his eggs — and that means plenty of fun for finding them too. Grab a free scavenger hunt booklet and join in on the Great Gaylord Palms Egg Hunt, follow the clues and you’ll discover ten oversized Easter eggs.
And on Easter Sunday, young guests can explore the outdoor Coquina Lawn to snatch up 1,000 multi-colored eggs filled with sweet treats. (Easter Sunday, April 16 at 11 a.m.; complimentary for resort guests)
Enjoy Queen Titania Tulip’s Easter Coronation and High Tea
Explore the Gaylord Palms new show featuring Queen Titania Tulip’s Easter Coronation and High Tea. The light-hearted, interactive musical revue welcomes families to join Queen Titania and her Royal Court as they crown the new Queen or King of Spring. In addition to sing-alongs, kids can decorate an Easter egg cookie, search for eggs in a unique egg hunt and learn some hippity-hoppity dance moves. (Saturdays, Sundays; $14.99 per decorating kit, plus tax)
Have Breakfast with the Easter Bunny
I’m a big fan of the breakfast buffet at the resort’s Villa de Flora and apparently, the Easter Bunny is too! Both Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny will greet guests and do some table-hopping (ha!) and posing for photos on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Buffet prices are $27.50 per adult, $13.75 per child 4-12, plus tax and gratuity.
Create Your Own Spring Scrub and Bunny Bath Fizz
Stop by the resort’s Relâche Spa for a fun hands-on activity creating a custom salt scrub and egg-shaped bunny bath fizz. While you’re there, be sure to check out the beautiful spa — or schedule a treatment. They have the most incredible showers there – promise!
The Spring Scrub and Bunny Bath Fizz activity takes place Fridays and Saturdays and is $13.99 per kit, plus tax.
Make A Splash at Cypress Springs Water Park
In addition to the zero-entry family pool, treehouse water play structure and four water slides, Gaylord Palms recently unveiled even more fun for thrill seekers!
Big Cypress towers features the Florida Free Fall, an AquaDrop slide that dispenses guests through a trapdoor into a 35-foot free-fall and flatline loop, ending in a centrifugal force final Champagne Bowl splashdown. The Tamiami Twister racing slides allow pairs of guests to speed through the twisting, high speed dual body flumes to see who arrives down below first!
The other new addition is the popular The Wake Zone, a double FlowRider allowing guests to try their skills at the surfable simulated wave. For those interested in watching the fun, the DoubleFlowRider is at the end of the family pool, a perfect spot for watching riders learn from the onsite training staff.
