My family and I are headed out on another cruising adventure today onboard the Carnival Liberty!
We are sailing from Port Canaveral on a quick, three-day journey with a stop in Nassau, Bahamas and a fun day at sea and a HUGE concert before making our way back home.
I am excited to visit Nassau again and take in the fun activities around the ship including the Seuss at Sea programming, Camp Carnival for the girls, after-dinner drinks at the Alchemy Bar (my favorite!) and one very, special concert by Nick Jonas!
Nick Jonas in Concert
Yep, that’s right! As part of the Carnival LIVE concert series , Nick Jonas is performing tonight in the ship’s main theater. While I don’t know too many of his songs, I LOVE live concerts and I know this one is going to be filled with excitement — and great people watching too.
The ship’s theater is fairly small with capacity usually around 900 to 1,300 people, so it should be an intimate show and that’s what I love the most about Carnival LIVE sailings, it feels personal!
This will be my third Carnival LIVE show and it is an incredible experience to see big-name acts perform in such small settings. The interactions between the artists and the crowd is just incredible, you can feel the energy!
What is Carnival LIVE?
On Carnival LIVE sailings, the ship has an extended stay in one port for the night of the concert. On one of our previous trips, we were docked in St. Thomas until midnight and Journey played that night in the ship’s theater. (They were only on the ship for the concert, not the entire voyage.)
Carnival LIVE allows fans to vacation, relax and also enjoy a live performance from their favorite musicians. Some of the past performers include Jewel, Lady Antebellum, Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson, Chicago and Journey.
When booking a cruise, you have the opportunity to purchase concert tickets (similar to booking an excursion).
Ticket prices vary, depending on the artist, with both general admission and VIP tickets available for the show. Typically, VIP tickets include seating in the first few rows, an artist meet and greet, a souvenir photo with the artist and a commemorative concert pass.
Beach Day Fun in Nassau
And after the excitement of the concert wears off, we’ll have a day of fun in Nassau on the Family Beach Day excursion at Blue Lagoon Island. Yep, we are going to the beach in mid-November… and I can’t wait!
Maggie was excited to hear that you can rent kayaks on the island, so this may be the trip we introduce her to kayaking, she’s very excited about it! Me? I’m also hoping for a fruity, umbrella drink and a little bit of time in a beach chair too.
Follow Along On The Adventure
I will have limited internet during the trip, but I’ll be sharing stories and pictures every chance I can. Follow along on Twitter at @CarrieMcLaren – the dedicated hashtag for the trip is #CarnivalLIVE. Also follow along with me on Instagram – @CarrieOnTravel where I share pictures of the fun (including towel animals!)
It’s going to be a fantastic trip — and I can’t wait to share it with you!
