Based in Jacksonville, Florida, the Carnival Elation recently returned from a lengthy dry dock after receiving a multi-million-dollar makeover.
With a new WaterWorks park, 38 new cabins, 98 balconies to existing staterooms, and a variety exciting food and beverage concepts – it is safe to say this is a newly, reimagined ship.
Here’s a look at the new features of the Carnival Elation –
Stateroom Improvements and New Cabins
Thirty-eight cabins have been added – two Grand Vista suites offering floor-to-ceiling windows, 22 junior suites, two scenic ocean view cabins and 12 interior accommodations. Additionally, private verandahs have been added to 98 existing staterooms, creating new 230-square-foot balcony staterooms. All staterooms offer new island-inspired interiors with bright colors and pastels inspired by Carnival Elation’s tropical itineraries.
New Dining Options Added to Carnival Elation
Some fantastic dining options were also added to this ship during the renovations. The poolside Guy’s Burger Joint featuring hand-crafted burgers, fresh cut fries and toppings bar developed by Food Network personality Guy Fieri. (This is always my first stop on embarkation day – awesome burgers.)
The RedFrog Rum Bar features Caribbean rum-based frozen drinks and beers, including Carnival’s own private label draught brew, ThirstyFrog Red. It is a great spot to grab a drink on the Lido deck — poolside!
The BlueIguana Cantina is a complimentary poolside Mexican eatery featuring authentic freshly made burritos and tacos on homemade tortillas, as well as an elaborate toppings and salsa bar. Pro Tip: They also serve breakfast burritos — delicious! The adjacent BlueIguana Tequila Bar offers a laid-back Mexican-themed atmosphere and tequila-based frozen drinks and beers, perfect for the pool.
Plenty of Fun Onboard Carnival Elation
Families will be excited to hear that Camp Ocean has also been added to the Carnival Elation. This marine-inspired camp for kids ages 2-11 features more than 200 ocean-themed activities, arts and crafts and tons of fun. My girls are huge fans of Camp Ocean and I’m thrilled to see it added to this ship.
A new WaterWorks can be found on the Verandah Deck, features an enclosed 300-foot-long Twister water slide full of exhilarating twists and turns, two 82-foot-long racing slides, and a splash zone for kids. Yes, please! And probably my Maggie’s favorite addition – a new Mini-Golf Course featuring nine-holes on Deck 14.
Upcoming Sailings on the Carnival Elation
Carnival is Jacksonville’s only year-round cruise ship offering four- and five-day cruises to The Bahamas featuring stops at Freeport, Nassau and the private destinations of Half Moon Cay and Princess Cays.
Carnival Elation will also offer a special six-day Bahamas cruise and an eight-day Bermuda voyage in April 2018 as well as a one-time seven-day eastern Caribbean cruise the following month.
